Cloud backup lets devices with your iCloud Keychain audio-backup key play and recover meeting audio. Current app versions encrypt backed-up audio on your device before upload, and Précis servers do not receive the audio decryption key. Leave backup off, and meeting audio never leaves your device.

When you choose to share a completed meeting, Précis creates an authenticated recipient copy. Audio access is granted with a key wrapped on the sender's device, so the server never sees the unwrapped audio key.
